Hi!

Sorry i've been away so long but I've just not been online much in the past 12 months.

Well our wedding is only a few weeks away, 15th July, and things are definately hotting up. There is just so much to organise. I've got my mum on the phone like 10 times a day, reminding me who I need to call and how much things are going to cost. Despite the hastle I'm really looking forward to the big day. I'm not nervous at all. I'm busy tryiing to get in shape for it, I only started a few weeks ago but it's gone really well so far. I'm swimming every day in my lunch hour and then going to the gym 3 times a week in the evening and when i tried my dress on the other week it was just right. Nothing needed changing at all!... I think i can still get away with losing a few more pounds but hey, can't i always.

I'm just busy uploading some of my hen weekend pictures in to a gallery on here. I've not been on for so long i didn't realise you could have a gallery on here and that's really cool. Click on the pic below to see the rest of the pics.

I started a new job in March this year after i finally got out of Recruitment which was just killing me. I'm now working for a promotions, design and marketing company in Bolton, which is just miles from our house. The money is crap but it's fairly easy work and it's a small company that i could work my way up in. I'm a lot happier anyway which is much more important. I'm still on meds and always will be according to my psych but they help me keep smiling and i've done a lot of NLP work on myself so i can look at things more positively. I think i've really changed in the last year, i feel more grounded and i guess, grown up... not that i don't act like a kid most of the time hehehehe.

Andy's just bought a laptop for us both and so i can now come online more often and type while i'm watching big brother or the world cup hehehe.

I hope everyone on here is ok. I miss you guys and will try and catch up with you in the next few weeks.

Lots of Love, Helen xx

Hey everyone, I really have an urge to update... i wrote out a whole update earlier today but as i suspected, i just don't have the energy to type it out. I miss all you guys and want you to know that i'm still around but i'm just going through some chronic diary apathy, .... hell just general life apathy and malais... as usual.

Keep in touch

I promise i'll come up with some real stuff tomorrow when i'm feeling a bit less hot and bothered... i think our heatings stuck on 25 degrees or something.

Well, I went on a course on Contemporary Wedding photography and I'm now sure that that is what I want to do! It made me realise that that is something I would really enjoy and it's something I can really make some money from! So, I'm concentrating on that. Ok so I have to work full time to support myself until I can become a full time photographer and I've packed in my job at siemens as I've been offered a recruitment consultant role up in Preston which is more money but all of my free time from now on will be my business. I'm reading a leaflet at the mo about how to get your business set up as a Limited Company. I've designed all my stationary and new business cards and I need to get some marketting material out, around our area here in Bolton.

Here are two of the pics I took on monday.

You can see more in Gallery 3 on my Website:

I'm really excited about building up my own business. It will be hard work, but the course taught me not to under value what I have to offer :0)

I hope you all like my pics. If any of you are getting married, just let me know and I'll come be your photographer!

Well... What's going on... To tell you the truth It's all a bit of a blur.

Andy's boss told him that he wouldn't be able to Pay Mark and Andy any more after the end of this month so Andy's been job hunting. Whereas i've been getting more and more disheartened working here at Siemens with poor money and no prospects so i've been looking too. We've both been looking for only one week and sofar we've had a total of 3 face to face interviews and both had job offers. I've just been offered a recruitment consultant job in Preston where the money is better. I've told them that I'll accept it but I'm really nervous as I did well in the interview. I sounded motivated etc but in reality, can I really be that upbeat person... with my depression? I'm not sure. But I need a change and I need to challenge myself. I'm a bit sad as I like Siemens but it's soul destroying either having not enough to do or being given the most laborious boring shit jobs on earth. I wouldn't mind if my boss or my boss's boss seemed to have a development plan for me but they just don't seem to see me as anything but an administrator and yet they use all my other extra curricular (as it were) skills to help them in the department, like my German and my IT skills... but they just won't shell out any more cash! I'm worth a lot more and this interview period has been good as lots of people have been pointing out that I can really offer any company something a little bit different. I had a user here at siemens the other day telling me how clever and talented I was and they said, "I hope they appreciate you up there" and I really wanted to say, well, NO actually...

I'm coming in to work each day at the moment feeling crap. I sit here feeling crap and I watch the clock from minute to minute, hour to hour. It's just not good for a girl to have that much time to be thinking about things, no wonder I get depressed.

I'm really sorry that I've not been updating so much... I really must get back in to it.

Hope you all had a great christmas. We went up to Bradford this year. Mum wanted to make it special as we've not been home for christmas day as a couple before. That and the fact that we always have to split christmas day between her and dad and gran... sooo we only met up with my dad and gran for an hour or so and the rest of the day was spent with mum.

We opened our copious gifts from Santa! I must have been a good girl this year. Dinner was good... mum paniced alot about it and ended up spilling the onion sauce on the carpet... doh! otherwise all was good. After dinner i was too bloated to move. 2 portions of christmas pudding didn't help, but hey i only get it once a year!

In the evening we slobbed out. Played who wants to be a millionaire on dvd! fun and very tense hehehe. Watched Ricky Gervais on dvd and then went to bed.

Boxing day we met up with Andy's parents at a pub in north manchester for lunch and then we went back to Bolton to Peter and Vera's and there were more presents for us there... we did really well this year... what did we do to deserve all the great gifts!

List of Gifts:

Socks
Fishnet Tights
A Tweed skirt
A green casual top
A warm fleecy top
A Small Bath salt assortment
A Book about Mary from the bible which i'll probably never read
Harry Potter, Two Brothers and both Shrek movies, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey and Ricky Gervais on dvd
Books: inc. Guiness Book of Records, The Road to Reality, 101 things to do before you die (very funny), Chavs (hehehe) German Slang
Bill Hicks biography and book of his routines etc.
A clock, a plaque saying "Life's too short to drink Cheap Wine" (oh ain't that true),
A make up box full of all sorts of makeup!, a makeup and champagne kit from M&S
A pair of piggy slippers and a pair of homer simpson slippers for Andy!
A pair of ceramic hair straighteners!!!
A sea monkey kit and tank!!!(how cool! we can play god!)
An Ant farmy thing full of gell that you keep ants in!
Chocolates Gallore!!!
A days photography course with Annabel Williams (Andy got me this... very very cool! she's my favourite photographer!)
A kit for deicing the car (very useful!)
A diary for 2005!
The German Magnetic poetry kit! (yay!)
A Homer simpson car toy that speaks and says funny stuff about other drivers etc!
A mobile phone car kit

And that's just a flavour of it :0) Ahh christmas :0) Gone for another year.

Tomorrow we are having an open house party thingy here at ours so we've bought enough food to feed the 5,000 and we're not sure who's coming... yay, chaos! Just how we like it.

I made it through my minor drugs crisis. It didn't really happen actually. I managed to find some odd efexor tablets in my bedside cabinet... you know one's that had fallen out by accident and had gathered some dust at the bottom of my draw... mmmm nothing like dust to add flavor. So When my prescription finally found its way out of the christmas postal system and on to our door mat I was able to take it to the pharmacy after only 4 hours of withdrawl which didn't really give it time to kick in. I also made sure i didn't do anything physical this morning so that the blood would rush through my brain to remind it that I hadn't got any toxins in my system. Success! I'm still sane!

Anyway, it's been a busy and long week. ON saturday we randomly decided to rip the dado rail off the spare room (it was there when we bought the house!) and we decided to buy paint and give the room a make over knowing we only had the evenings of this week to do it in. Well, Monday we painted one wall (I was in a mood though and so was lacking in enthusiasm). On Tuesday we did the other 3 walls... on wednesday we went to Ikea to buy a bookshelf and some curtains and a curtain pole and some pictures for the wall. Yesterday I bought the bedding and then, me, Andy and Andy's dad Peter built the bookshelves, hung the pictures and curtain rail and tonight all that is left to be done is cut the curtain material to size, hemm it and hang em! I'm proud of us. I'll have to post some pics when it's finished finished. Ok, so we still have the old single bed in there but this is soon to be going and we're going to get a sofa bed for in there so it can be our cosy reading room/guest bedroom :0) I love our little house. All we need to do now is our room as it's a shit tip with shitty wallpaper (the same as it was when we bought it) and I want new fitted wardrobes... Oh well.. all the public bits of the house look good... appart from the fact we need new carpets downstairs and in the hall. Our room is at present just a dark hole where we go every night to hibernate, so it serves it's purpose for the time being.

After today, i only have one more day in work before christmas (that's next wednesday and i'm only in then because we have our works christmas lunch hehehe.) Phew.. i can relax a bit. I'll probably get a hideous cold as soon as i stop and unwind but what the hey, what will be wil be. All i've got to do now present wise is sit and wait for the things i've ordered to arrive... at least i'll be at home to receive them next week. Knowing my luck though they'll all arrive on Wednesday! HA! WOrk wise i've been unwinding all week. I've done fuck all this week. I suppose lots of people will already be taking holidays so the demand on c2p is low at the moment. I've just been researching more photography business related things ... A photographer left a message on my website to say he liked my stuff and so i looked him up and his works amazing.. just the sort of thing i want to do, so i've contacted him and asked if i could assist him in any of his next weddings and he's said he'll let me know when he next has one in my area.. this is great. I'm determined to become a full time photographer. I've joined a photographic society and going to apply for an accredited qualification in the new year. I'm hopefully going to get some studio lights for christmas.. i can't wait to do another commission :o)

I'm really fucked off with work now, i just want to go home. Kaye, my friend here in purchasing is leaving... she's been offered a job nearer to home as Siemens haven't pulled their finger out to get her a permanent contract so they are going to lose her. It's their loss!! I really hate working for a big corporation at times. My move in to photography can't come quickly enough... I'll miss kaye... Still, i'll have Ute to have a laugh with at lunchtimes. I might even look for another job myself... Then they'll be up poo creek with out any administrators hehehe.

Oh well... Better get back to doing a bit of work and a lot of surfing...

Bye for now xxx

Confessions of an Administrator

I'm tired of the boredom
your corporate whoredom
and all your petty demands
and no i don't understand
how you got wherer you are
with your car and your phone
and your executive toys
and your oversized home.

And i'm tired
of the miserable pay
and your sarcastic tone
when your talking to me
cos i'm the only one here with a uni degree
And don't you see, the real boss here is me!

Yes i'm pissed
at how you talk to my tits
but i'll be missed
you'll soon see you ignorant git.
When i'm gone
I won't have to hear you moan
and what's more
there'll be no one to answer your phone!
